Royal Starfire

from Emma and Starfire

Starfire is the colt who inspired the series The Star Horses. His mother is a black and white mare named Duchess of the Stars, and his father is a golden palomino nicknamed Sunny. When Starfire was born in 2014, he was dysmature, a rare condition that caused him to appear to be premature, despite the fact that he was actually a month overdue. He was so weak that he could not stand up, but after 24 hours of intensive care by author Lauren Marie, Starfire was able to stand and nurse on his own. The combination of Starfire's initial weakness and his unusual parentage, his star-mother and his sun-father, formed the basis of the idea of a foal who was, in reality, the offspring of night and day.

The Lord of the Sun

The Lord of the Sun is inspired by Sawdust's Shokenaw, a former stallion who went by the nickname Sunny. He is a golden palomino and the father of Starfire. The picture to the left is his daughter, Moonlight Delight, who is a spitting image of her sire and is owned by author Lauren Marie.
